WOMAN ACCUSED OF ARMED BANK ROBBERY

The Linder Firm Jan. 7, 2015

A Texas woman was accused of robbing a bank in Lacy Lakeview on Dec. 29. The 20-year-old woman was taken into custody a day after the incident and charged for armed robbery. According to a spokesperson from the bank, the woman was found after an employee at a different branch recognized the woman from a photograph that had been circulated.

Lacy Lakeview Police say that the accused woman went into the Extraco Bank on Loop 340 at around 11:40 a.m. After approaching the bank teller, the woman allegedly presented a note that said she was carrying a weapon and wanted cash. The woman then left the bank on foot and went in the direction of Interstate 35.

The following day, police began to receive reports that the same woman was seen inside of three different banks in the Killeen area and two banks in Lorena. At around 4 p.m., the woman was found in a bank in Hillsboro and taken into custody. She was criminally charged after being interviewed by police officers from Lorena and Lacy Lakeview. The woman was held at the McLennan County Jail.

A person who has received criminal charges after an incident like this might argue that they were falsely identified by the authorities. The defendant might claim that poor quality surveillance footage resulted in the misidentification and they were not in the bank when the robbery occurred. A criminal defense attorney may be able to help someone in this type of situation to present a solid collection of evidence that will help to contradict the prosecution’s claims.
